Inspired very largely by real bears, Bear Bits bears are created by Jean and Bill Ashburner who are genuinely passionate about bears, as the drawings, bronzes, carvings etc scattered around their home can testify. A Bear Bits bear is instantly recognisable as having been designed and made by Jean and Bill who are internationally reowned for their style and quality of workmanship. Their bears are not just loved for themselves but regarded as a classic development of the teddy bear: an essential part of any collection.

Louis  A one-of-one measuring 18 inches (45cm), Louis is an eminently huggable, grizzly-style bear made from dense Schulte mohair in a traditional soft golden brown shade. His paws are brown ultrasuede with 3D pads and airbrushed and needle sculpted detail. He has a very complex, naturally shaped embroidered nose, 10mm dark brown glass eyes and a little tail. Louis has 8 joints including  double neck and wrist joints. His head and limbs are firmly filled with a combination of wood wool and polyester, and his body is firmly filled with polypellets (recycled) and a small amount of polyester. Just superb! .
